Climate change is one of the most pressing dangers of our time. The effects on the earth and all life on it, human health, and financial burden are so staggering that to not confront this challenge adequately is criminal. Most of the serious challenges must be dealt with globally. For example the nations of the world must help Brazil to insure that the Amazon rainforest, the lungs of the planet, are protected from further destruction.
Within the United States, as President, I would fight to protect air and water from pollution, promote building of desalination plants, expand forest regrowth by planting of billions of trees, building carbon removal centers. I would also enact noise pollution standards. The US must lead the world with the research and development of green technologies. We will lead a global crusade to remove plastic from the oceans and all waterways. I will make a priority the acceleration of research and development needed for clean fusion energy to become a reality.
