Clearly there is a need for more affordable housing which the federal government should help with. It, as well as the homelessness crisis is the domain of the local municipalities and states to deal with in as effectively as they can for their city and state. Allowing any American to be homelessness is a national disgrace. Helping people struggling with homelessness starts with getting them off the streets and into a personal living space. This should followed by providing the mental health care, drug rehabilitation, or employment opportunity needed. Helping them to rebuild their lives should include the private and charitable sectors.
